What is it about?

The climate crisis is the biggest challenge of our time. The energy sector (electricity, heat and transport) accounts for 73.2% of global greenhouse gas emissions, providing a huge opportunity for real change.

Today, we face two major issues: either people lack access to sufficient energy or the available energy is heavily dependent on fossil fuels.

Renewable energy sources have the potential to transform the currently flawed system. However, in order to be scalable, efficient and resilient, renewables require new technologies. The energy system of the future will be digitalized, decarbonized, decentralized.

gridXdays brings together thought leaders to discuss how we can use technology to accelerate the transition to carbon-neutral energy.

The road to
carbon neutrality

Where do we currently stand?

In order to be able to make impactful change, we must first understand the current system, how and why it developed this why and in what direction it is heading. This block will focus on where CO2 emissions in energy production come from and which areas require the most change.

What can we do?

Solutions are already available to make energy more accessible and affordable. From electrification to smart management to carbon capture - which solutions hold the most promise for realizing carbon-neutral energy and what more must be done in these areas?

How do we put this into practice?

The final block will discuss the barriers to implementing these solutions. What regulatory, technical and economic conditions must change to enable a sustainable energy future?

Who's talking?

Experts from the tech sector, sustainable investors, politicians and business leaders will come together to give speeches, answer questions and engage in insightful discussion to help solve some of the most important challenges the world is facing today.
